Greens Inspection by Berry Bowls Systems & Dales U.K.

On Tuesday 21st of June, the Clubs President and Treasurer and three of our Division 1 bowlers met with Richard Steadman (CEO of Dales) and Alan and Steve Berry of Berry Bowls Systems at the Club to discuss the new surfaces, their anomalies and inconsistencies in performance. The meeting lasting 3 hours, with more than half the time spent putting bowls down on each green, either by hand or via a ramp Berry's supplied for the testing. The Top green displayed several visible inconsistencies and the Bottom green to a lesser extent. Saturday Pennant Divisions decided

Hastings will field sides in the following divisions for the 2016/2017 Pennant season which commences this year on Saturday 8th of October. Division 1 Division 2 Division 3 Division 5 Division 6 South Division 6 North. September practice matches with have been arranged with Pakenham, Keysborough, Balnarring and Inverloch. There are also two Intra Club games on Saturday 3rd and 24th of September. Sheets for you to add your name to, for each of the practice matches are on the notice board in the main club room.

$5800 grant from Federal Government for solar batteries.

The Federal Minister for the Environment and local member Greg Hunt ,will be at the HBC at 10am tomorrow to announce a grant of $5800 to the club, towards the installation of solar batteries. The batteries when installed, will provide power to the Club in the evenings, when the sun has long disappeared for the day and the solar cells are at rest. This should have a significant effect on the running costs of the Club. Everyone is invited to witness the announcement. Club uniform is the dress of the day.
