Queens Birthday Tournament wrap 2019

With perfect weather for the two days of the tournament, 24 quality teams and a fabulous bunch of Club volunteers, the scene was set for a great event. And so it was. Thanks to Terry Fraser who ran the event, Dave Jury for all his pre game work and to Barry Burt for organising the greens and special mention to all the ladies in the kitchen lead by our President Helen Couchman, the bar staff and to our results team without all their help the event just could not have happened. Outline for Pennant Season 2019- 20

THE TIME FOR CHANGE HAS COME - REPORT Preface The MPB Board is alarmed with the number of MPB pennant and state championship players last season (2018/19) having dropped 8% on the previous season. It is looking to design competitions that may better suit both existing and potential club members, in an attempt to change this dramatic decline. It is the Board’s position that it also wishes to increase participation in lawn bowls across the general population, and wants to work with clubs to assist them to improve their recruiting policies and plans by offering sustainable competitions that provide opportunities for prospective participants to be active in the sport.
